Our Village Story

Tucked away in the rolling Pennine hills just two miles from Barnard Castle, Boldron is a small village with a big heart. With its roots in the historic North Riding of Yorkshire, Boldron offers a peaceful rural charm steeped in history and community spirit.

Home to around 100 residents, Boldron is a place where everyone knows your name. One of the historic landmarks is Athelstan Well — lovingly restored by local volunteers in 2007, a testament to the pride we take in our heritage.

The heart of village life beats at the Pinfold Club, where you'll find lively community gatherings and residents relaxing after a hard week's work as well as visitors to the area relaxing and enjoying great value refreshments. It's a space where neighbours become friends, and visitors are always welcome.

Please Pick Up After Your Dog

A friendly reminder to all dog owners to pick up after your pets. There are conveniently located bins for your use:

• On the corner opposite the phone box
• At the bottom of the village, before you go through the gate into the field
